Sobre el artista y la obra- Artist Statement

Nací en Sevilla el 11 de mayo de 1973.

Soy un pintor autodidacta.

Con 24 años marché a Berlín, ciudad en la que viví durante ocho años volcado en el estudio y la práctica de la pintura. Desde hace cinco años resido y pinto en Extremadura.

La naturaleza constituye el motivo central de mi obra en un sentido amplio. Mi intención no es tanto reproducir o retratar la naturaleza, sino crear nuevas formas desde las cuales el mundo natural se desintegra hacia una profunda e íntima representación de su estructura. A partir de ésta el cuadro crea su propia, singular, única y anónima naturaleza.

I was born in Seville (Spain) in 1973.

I am a self-taught painter.

When I was 24 years I wen to Berlin, looking for the space, the time and the environment to develop my artwork. Berlin gave me the chance to study and practice the painting. For more than ten years it has been my main occupation.

Actually I live in Extremadura (Spain) and its wonderful nature inspires my artwork.

Nature is the core of my painting and it has a broad sense in my artwork. I do not try to reproduce it, but to create a new Nature from a recognizable shape, to a more disintegrated one. In my artworks the objects painted are represented in their own deep and intimate structure, and from them the picture creates its own exemplary, unique and anonymous Nature. My artwork evokes wild landscapes from different perspectives, through the color, form, and meticulously layered paint.
